i feel like there’s too much referencing going on in fashion at the moment. designers are quick to reference other designers or attempt to recreate somebody else’s legacy. too many literal translations of what has already been done in the past, not enough forward-thinking. fashion doesn’t progress forward when all you do is try to redo the work of what has already been done. people need to leave it all behind and learn to be themselves and not be themselves at the same time.
